Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Tracey, and members of the VSF team were out doing VSF/AIDS work in Addis, when they stumbled upon the orphanage where her soon to be adopted kids were located.

"That's where your kids are", the woman they were with told her.
Tracey replied, "What! What are you talking about? They're right there?" Her stomach sank and her head slowly turned, as they drove past a modest looking pale yellow building with a rusted metal gate and a guard who wore a hat two sizes too big.

When they pulled over along a bumpy dirt road, the woman told her, "Go and see your children." But in Tracey’s mind, that wasn’t even possible. There were 'rules' that she was not to see the children until Saturday, giving her four more days to prepare mentally and emotionally for this life-changing encounter.
So, she quickly replied, "No. I'm not allowed to see them yet." What she was really thinking was, I'm not READY to see them yet.
Luckily, the wise Ethiopian woman looked the mother to be in the eyes and slowly, but firmly, repeated her command, "go and meet your children."
So, overly apologetic, dumbfounded and dazed, she did.
